At approximately 2:30 pm on Sunday, February 15, 2015 the Slocan Lake RCMP received a report of a found body approximately two kilometres south of Slocan near the shore of Slocan River.
The body was recovered and transported to Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital for Coroner’s examination.
At this time, the identification of the deceased has not been confirmed. The BC Coroner’s Service has assumed control of the investigation.
Police seek missing woman

The Slocan Lake RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a woman reported missing on January 7th. Victoria Aguilar was last seen walking on Harold Street in the Village of Slocan a short distance from her home.
Victoria is described as follows:
– 63 years old
– 5’4″ tall, medium build
– Fair complexion with freckles
– Shaved head
Victoria was last seen wearing a long brown winter coat, a toque, and winter boots.
